The short version: SilkShutter does not collect, transmit, or share any of your personal data. It has no internet access at all. Everything the app does happens entirely on your device, and your photos never leave it unless you share them yourself.
None. SilkShutter has no user accounts, no sign-in, no advertising, and no analytics or tracking of any kind. The app does not request internet permission, so it is technically incapable of sending any information off your device.
SilkShutter needs camera access to capture the live frames it stacks into a long-exposure photograph. Camera frames are processed on your device, in memory, and are never uploaded anywhere. Finished photos are saved only to your device's own photo gallery (in the Pictures/SilkShutter folder).
SilkShutter includes an optional "Geotag photos" setting that is turned off by default. If — and only if — you turn it on and grant location permission, the app reads your device's current location and embeds it into the saved photo's standard EXIF metadata, exactly as an ordinary camera does. This location data is written only into your own photo file, stored on your device. It is never transmitted, collected, or shared by us. You can turn the setting off at any time, or revoke location permission in Android Settings.
Photos you save are stored in your device's gallery. They stay on your device under your control. SilkShutter does not have any server, cloud storage, or backup service.
SilkShutter contains no third-party SDKs, advertising networks, or analytics services. No data is shared with anyone, because no data is collected in the first place.
SilkShutter is a general-audience camera utility and is safe for all ages. Because it collects no personal information, it does not knowingly collect data from children or anyone else.
If this policy ever changes, the updated version will be posted at this same address with a new "Last updated" date.
